About Me:
Kerry Martin is a trumpeter based out of Columbia, Maryland, who started his professional career playing in the Baltimore/Washington area over 30 years ago. An alumnus of Towson State University’s famed jazz ensembles led by Hank Levy, Kerry has performed on stage and recorded with the diverse likes of Ethel Ennis, Brenda Alford, Freddie Hubbard, Lin Biviano, The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and even Dan Ackroyd of Blues Brothers fame. Kerry was also tapped to play lead trumpet for various projects involving alumni of the big bands of Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman, and Stan Kenton. Locally, Kerry has performed and/or recorded with many fine jazz, swing, blues, and rock groups including Totally Confused, Carey Ziegler’s Expensive Hobby, Powerhouse, Mary Lou & The Untouchables, 23 Skadoo and half a gazillion other groups ranging from wedding bands to big bands. Most recently, Kerry was performing with the OHMG Jazz Quartet that included Greg Gaither on bass, Chris Odegart on guitar, and Steve Hammond on drums.
